070707 Open Heaven

Saturday 7th July 2007

July 7th 2007 (Prayer for the Nations)

Leaders of Britain's prayer movements are inviting Christians to pray for their communities at their local Town Halls on July 7, 2007 -- 070707 -- exactly two years after the London bombings unleashed a wave of fear across the country.

The vision for this local-but-national prayer initiative emerged in the wake of the London bombings when Julie and Lois and their husbands, Ken and Rod, were praying for the country, together with Cindy Jacobs of Generals International. During this time of prayer Cindy released the word '070707 Open Heaven', and they began to pray about gathering, maybe in Trafalgar Square for a day of forgiveness and prayer for all the pain and fear caused through the London bombings. As they followed the leading of the Lord, however, they sensed He wanted something new for the nation, at a grass-roots level.

At a London meeting Julie Anderson shared the word of 070707 with Dr. Jonathan Oleyede, Leader for Global Day of Prayer, London, May 27th who also sensed the significance of the date of 070707. It had been on the heart of Julie Anderson, and Lois Gott - founder members of the Deborah Company UK - to ask Church leaders, and Christians to pray for the nation on 070707.

Jonathan shared Terry Diggines's heart to see, a 'new' London, and they are working together to see Terry's vision cover London with a Canopy of Prayer, and Jonathon's, and Julie's for the nation on 070707.

As the vision has grown, the plan has gained backing from several national leaders so far, and is growing as a grass roots time of prayer.

Julie Anderson, Co-founder of Prayer for the Nations says, 'We ask you to join us in fulfilling this vision by being at your own local Town Hall at 11:00am to pray in preparation for a nation wide prayer to be corporately lifted up at 12 noon on 070707.'

Julie Anderson has been given visions for the nation's spiritual growth, and been a key player in several nationwide prayer initiatives including the National Prayer Breakfast in the Houses of Parliament, 'TheCall England' which filled the Madjeski Reading Stadium with young praying Christians July 13th, 2002 and hosted seven international Prayer Summits in Westminster, which have been instrumental in bringing healing and building bridges between many nations.

Rod & Julie Anderson lead Prayer for the Nations and Julie has recently launched the Deborah Company UK - a coalition of praying women.

Suggested prayers will be posted here on this site for leaders of each Borough Council to see as they start their new terms of office, and regional Church leaders to have their congregations begin to prayer to stand with their local government.

Prayers from love can heal the fear, pain and anger felt by people of all faiths throughout the country following the London bombings, and by asking God to 'rebuild hopes and dreams, and heal shattered lives in their community' much goodness is believed can be released.
